Biographical/Historical note

The first Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration was held on campus in 1995. Since that time the University has held commemoration events on campus yearly, around the time of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday.

Portions of this collection were donated by Kathy French, William W.Cobb Jr., and Jerome Currelley; other materials have been collected by the archives from various campus sources including the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
