This collection consists of materials collected by Barry M. Roth during his tenure as a professor at Utah Technical College at Provo/Orem, Utah Valley Community College, Utah Valley State College, and Utah Valley University. The collection includes: correspondence; institutional materials, such as meeting minutes, announcements, bulletins, agendas, and programs; reports; policy books and handbooks; materials related to classes and labs, such as syllabi, overviews, class lists, and class materials; materials related to the semester transition; materials related to the campus, such as campus planning, building contamination, and connecting hallways; newspapers; and other miscellaneous items. Biographical/Historical note
Barry Roth began teaching at Utah Technical College at Provo/Orem in 1972. He began as an adjunct reading teacher in a shared classroom of reading and math students, also helping students with math. He was offered a tenure-track math teaching position in 1973 and was tenured in 1976. He estimates that he has taught around 11,600 students. Barry has a Bachelor's in History with a minor in English, and a Master's in Geography from Brigham Young University. Barry retired from UVU in 2010.
